Message From Pastor

Beloved, the media has bombarded us with information regarding COVID 19, which could easily wrap us up with anxious thoughts.  Proverbs 12:25 states, “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down.  But a good word makes it glad.”

Paul instructs us in Philippians 4:6 to “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to god.”  Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  It is important to heed Paul’s instruction, because thoughts can become obsessions.  If we allow ourselves to become obsessed with this serious problem, it could occupy most, if not all, of our time and energy.  Scripture encourages us to not be anxious, and not be fearful, but instead be strong and courageous.  God’s command for His children is not to grab and possess anxiety because it is too heavy to carry.  The burden can be crippling.

God emphatically desires for us to not be weighed down by the cares and concerns of today.  This is not to suggest ignorance, but to understand that He is much larger than what we see.  Here is the reality…Deuteronomy 10:14 “Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it.”  God performs miracles, and He governs the course of nature and history with a goal in mind; the accomplishment of His will.  As a Community, and a Body of Believers, let us choose to exercise Faith over Fear.  Our God is well able to keep us all.
